How to Draw Minnie Mouse
- Prepare the Base
Start by sketching a large circle — this will be Minnie’s head. Inside the circle, draw three oval shapes: two vertical ovals for the eyes and one horizontal oval for the nose. This will serve as the base layout of her face.
- Add Facial Details
Refine the inner face by adding Minnie’s her pupils in the eyes, and a curved line that outlines her cheek and upper mouth. Also, sketch the smiling mouth below the nose. Next, outline the top of her head more clearly, by forming a classic cartoon face.
- Detail the Head
Now draw the round base of her bow at the top center of her head — this will connect to the large loops in the next step. Also, add long eyelashes above each eye and sketch Minnie’s tongue, which is visible slightly sticking out from her open mouth.
- Complete the Bow
Time to make Minnie even more recognizable! Draw two large loops on either side of the bow’s center circle to complete her signature polka-dot bow. This gives her that classic Minnie Mouse charm.
- Draw Ears and the Dress
Add her round mouse ears on both sides of her head, behind the bow. Below her head, sketch the basic outline of her dress — it’s flowy and flares out with a soft wavy line at the bottom.
- Add the Dress Details
Next, draw her shoulders and the belt area of the dress around her waist. You can also begin sketching the rounded sleeves and small oval shapes near her torso that will help define her gloves.
- Draw the Arms and Gloves
Now add both of Minnie’s gloved hands. Her left hand is raised in a wave, and her right hand reaches out. Make sure to draw the large fingers and cuffs of her classic cartoon gloves. Straight lines should be used to connect the shoulders and gloves to create a complete drawing of the arms.
- Add the Legs
Below the dress, draw her legs crossing slightly in a playful stance. Add the basic shapes of her large, rounded shoes — another key feature of Minnie’s iconic style.
- Add Shoe Details and Final Touches
Draw the details of her shoes, including the open-top areas and rounded toe tips. Clean up your lines if needed and make sure everything looks smooth and symmetrical.
- Color Your Minnie Mouse Drawing
Now for the fun part — color your drawing! Use red with white polka dots for the bow and dress, yellow for the shoes, and fill in the ears and body with shades of black and gray. Don’t forget her skin tone and pink tongue!
