In this tutorial, you will draw the simplest steamer that plows the vastness of the oceans and seas. The steamer is driven by a steam engine, and the steam itself rises through the pipes that you see in the picture.
Our boat is drawn in just 9 simple steps. Let’s start!
Time needed: 25 minutes
How to Draw a Ship for Kids
- Draw the waves.
Begin by drawing waves, which are drawn using wavy lines.
- Draw the hull of the ship.
Take a close look at the shape of the ship’s hull in the example and transfer the sketches to your sheet.
- Draw the hole for the anchor.
The ship’s anchor is in the hold, you need to draw a hole from where it is lowered into the water. To do this, draw a circle on the right side of the ship.
- Draw an anchor.
Now draw the anchor that is in the circle that you drew in the previous step.
- Draw the wheelhouse.
The wheelhouse is where the captain and crew control the ship. Draw a rectangular shape above the ship’s hull.
- Draw the portholes.
Draw three rounded windows on the ship’s wheelhouse.
- Add details.
Draw rectangular funnels for the ship.
- Add lines.
Draw typical ship stripes on the funnels.
- Color the ship.
We colored the water blue, the hull of the steamer dark gray, the wheelhouse light gray, the anchor hole even darker. Portholes can be colored blue and chimneys stripes can be colored red, as shown in the example.
Great! Your drawing of a huge ship is ready. Leave a comment with your opinion, we are very interested in what you think and how quickly you drew this drawing.
