How to Draw a Face Step by Step
- Draw the base.
Start by drawing the main shape of the face. The shape of the face is similar to a wide shield. Draw five oblique lines and connect them to each other to make a square with the person’s angular chin.
- Draw the shoulders.
Now below the face shape, you need to draw the upper torso. Draw a straight horizontal line and then add a curved line above it as in the example.
- Add the neck and ears.
In this step, you need to connect the torso and head using two straight lines as in the example. After that add the ears as shown.
- Sketch the hair.
First, draw the side parts of the hair, which are made using straight lines. After that, draw tousled unruly hair at the top.
- Parts of the face.
Let’s move on to adding the details of the face. In this step draw round cartoonish eye shapes as well as a smiling mouth shape of the person.
- Add details.
Detail the character’s ears and also add round pupils as shown in the example.
- Add the nose and eyebrows.
Draw rectangular cartoon eyebrows above the eyes, after that draw the guy’s nose using a curved line and a straight bottom nose line.
- Detail the mouth.
Detail the character’s smile by adding a curved line of upper teeth, as well as a semi-circular shape of the tongue as an example.
- Color your artwork.
Use your favorite coloring tools to color your drawing. Before the coloring process, you can trace the outlines of the pencil sketch using a fountain pen.
