Hi all! In this lesson, you will learn how to draw a tiger. The tiger is a regal predator of the family feline. Despite the massiveness of a wild cat, tigers have dexterity and plasticity. The tiger also has good eyesight, which also serves him in the dark to distinguish objects. An interesting fact: the front paws of the tiger have 5 fingers, while the hind legs have 4 fingers.
Drawing a tiger is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance. The main thing is not to rush, follow our step-by-step instructions, and you will definitely succeed. Let’s get started!
Time needed: 30 minutes
How to Draw a Tiger
- Draw the head.
The top is stretched vertically, and the bottom is stretched horizontally. The sides of the middle of the head have sharp edges.
- Add ears and eye contour.
Draw symmetrical ears on both sides of the head using two curved lines. Inside the spaces, draw in an arc — the inner areas of the ears will be indicated. Don’t forget about the eyes: draw two identical ovals at the top of the head.
- Add pupils and stripes on the face.
Inside the ovals, you need to add round pupils. Next, draw the characteristic stripes on the head.
- Draw the muzzle and whiskers.
The line of the tiger muzzle runs smoothly from one cheekbone to the other. In the lower space, draw whiskers in the shape of straight lines.
- Finish the muzzle and add the front legs.
The nose is in the middle of the muzzle, has the shape of an inverted triangle. Two arcs descend from it to the left and right – this is the cheeks. Next, under the head, draw vertical legs.
- Draw the hind legs and belly.
The hind legs of the animal can be drawn in a wavy shape, which resembles a cloud. Note that the limbs are partially hidden behind the body. Remember to connect all the paws with a belly line at the bottom.
- Detail the paws.
At this stage, it is necessary to draw in more detail the lower parts of the paws.
- Draw the tail.
Draw a wavy tail, but notice that the entire tail is not visible.
- Add stripes.
One of the final steps is to add stripes all over the body of the animal.
- Color your tiger.
After you have drawn the contours of the tiger, you can start shading it. Choose colors that match those of the real tiger, or use your imagination to create a unique design. Start with the base coat color, then add the stripe colors.
