How to Draw a Praying Mantis for Kids
- Draw the eyes.
These are two small circles with dots in the center of the eyes. It is better to place the eyes at the top of the sheet, so that later the body will fit under the eyes.
- Draw the shape of the head.
First, sketch a curved line between the eyes. After that sketch out the bottom of the mantis head as shown.
- Draw the antennae.
The antennae are located directly on the head. Draw them according to the example.
- Draw the thorax.
Draw an almond-shaped upper body of the mantis under the head.
- Draw the front legs.
Take a close look at the example and draw the front legs of the praying mantis. Notice that they come straight out from under the head and get wider towards the tips.
- Add sharp claws.
Draw sharp claws on the tips of the resulting front legs, as shown in the sample.
- Draw the abdomen.
Using two curved lines, draw the abdomen of the mantis, which pointed at the end.
- Add details.
Detail the abdomen of the mantis with a few lines.
- Add hind legs.
