The history of pencils dates back to the distant past. The first record on pencils was found in the Italian town of Fabriano in 1565. They were made of clay and had a rectangular shape. However, over time, pencils began to be made of wood and the graphite lead was inserted inside.
Pencils are used for drawing, note-taking, sketching, and more. Depending on the hardness and softness of the graphite core, pencils can be used for different types of work. What type of pencil do you use for drawing?
There are three main types of pencils:
1. Soft pencils: HB, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B, 7B, 8B. They make darker marks on paper and are used for drawing and shading.
2. Medium pencils: F, H, 2H, 3H, 4H. They are used for thin lines, coloring, and contour drawings.
3. Hard pencils: 5H, 6H, 7H, 8H. They are used at the beginning of the work to apply basic outlines.
There are also colored pencils. Colored pencils come in many variations and shades. Regular colored pencils are used for coloring and adding color to the drawing. Do you prefer to color your drawings with colored pencils or markers?
