How to Draw a Horse Step by Step
- Draw the head.
Begin by drawing the basic outline of the horse’s head and muzzle.
- Add the torso.
The second step is to draw the outline of the horse’s torso, slightly below the head.
- Neck.
Extend from the head, two curved lines that form the horse’s neck. Also add a line that separates the horse’s muzzle from the rest of the face.
- Draw the legs.
Sketch the front and back legs of the horse, which are visually closer. Note that the example shows the horse in motion.
- Far legs.
Now, following the example from the step, draw the far front and back legs.
- Add details.
We detail the horse by adding important details—hooves and a magnificent horse’s tail.
- Detail the head.
Let’s now move on to detailing the horse’s head by adding the horse’s leaf-shaped ears, small eye, nostril, and eyebrow.
- Add the mane.
Depict a long mane on the horse’s neck. Also detail the horse’s tail as shown.
- Color the artwork.
Start by tracing the outlines of your sketch with a marker or fountain pen. Then color your horse using crayons, colored pencils or any other coloring tools.
