We present you on our website how to draw a Christmas tree. Most of us love Christmas trees from childhood, which bring home a festive and cozy atmosphere. Each of us sends letters to Santa Claus and his elves, who give us gifts on December 25. Do you leave cookies and milk on the table before Christmas night?
Europeans began to decorate the Christmas tree for the New Year holidays at the end of the Middle Ages. And the tradition of decorating a New Year’s tree was not much different from the current ones. The upper part was the Star, apples were hung instead of balls, real burning candles were placed on the branches. And figurines made of waffles were supposed to hang on the spruce branches. They symbolized the loaves given during the sacrament. Historians say that until the middle of the eighteenth century, anything that was edible was hung on the tree. Nuts and various sweets were also added to apples and waffle figurines. And only by the beginning of the nineteenth century, Christmas tree decorations cease to be edible. Flowers made of paper, golden cones, brass figurines of angels and even eggshells began to be hung on the tree. You may ask why there were no classic Christmas balls. And they say that they appeared in Saxony a little later.

How to Draw a Christmas Tree
- Draw the top of the tree.
Let’s start drawing the tree from the top. To do this, you need to draw the edge of the tree in the shape of a triangle, and the bottom should be lush like a classic spruce.
- Depict the continuation of the spruce.
Using the same technology, draw the second lower level of the Christmas tree!
- Draw three more pieces of the tree.
Depict the tree to the end. We will not show each stage of the tree’s tiers, but you have already figured out how to finish illustrate the tree structure. You just need to draw three more lower parts of the tree in the same way. Each time you should make a new section wider than the tops of the tree.
- Draw a ribbon and a star.
At this stage, you first need to depict a star at the top of the tree. After drawing the star, draw the ribbons that decorate the tree in the picture.
- Draw the tree decoration.
Start by drawing Christmas balls, which are a classic decoration for any Christmas tree. After that, sketch out the candy cane decorations.
- Paint over the pencil lines with black marker.
If you drew on paper with a pencil, you need to paint the pencil lines with a black marker to highlight the lines of the picture. This will make your drawing completed.
- Color the drawing of the tree.
The final step in illustration the tree is to colorize the result. For this you need color supplies for coloring. The example shows what colors will need to be painted, but if you like other colors, then use your imagination and paint the lametta, tinsel, disc garland and shatterproof bauble in any colors.
